A NEW BEGINNING

So, I’m saved…..NOW WHAT?

1) Begin to communicate with your Heavenly Father

Do you know that God desires to hear from you? As with any other relationship, your relationship with God requires interaction and communication on a continuous basis. Of course, pray throughout the day, but also set aside special time just for you and Him.

Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. -Thessalonians 5:16-18

2) Invest in The Holy Bible!

Not just in purchasing one, but also invest time in reading the Word of God. The Word is food for our spirit as well as instruction in life. Now that we’re children of the King, we must learn what this entails as well as the inheritance we now have.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. -Psalm 119:105

3) Find a Word Church!

It is vital for you to find a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church so that you can grow in the Word of God, which is the sword of the spirit. Attending a Bible-believing and living church will help you greatly grow as a Christian, as you fellowship with more experienced saints.

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. -Colossians 3:12-16

4) Remember you are human and that you WILL make mistakes.

BUT more so remember this: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” There is no cap on this.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. -Romans 8:1

Remember that at the moment you received Christ as your Lord and Savior, God sealed you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will lead you in all truth and righteousness. The only thing you need to do is listen. This require you to yield every area of your life over to Jesus. As with everything else in the kingdom of God, you always get a greater return on your investment!

Now that you are now saved...

Learn who YOU are in Christ!

A FEW SUGGESTIONS

Enjoy God and make the decision to grow in Him.

Find a prayer partner to pray with. Not only will this enhance your prayer life, but you’ll have someone you can learn from and share in your Christian walk.

For every negative word someone has spoke against you, including yourself, find a scripture that speaks to that particular matter. For instance, the enemy constantly reminded me of my past failures. I found in 1 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Each time he brought up my past, I quoted this Scripture and it’s changed my life. There is power in the Word of God!

Surround yourself with people and things that are conducive to your new Christian life This may require you to remove people and things from your life, but trust me, it is worth it!

Make a decision to believe EVERY word in the Bible., not just the things that sound good to you.
